THE CHALLENGES

SMG was first engaged by Baku City Circuit (BCC) in 2018 to help promote the Formula 1 Azerbaijani Grand Prix to a global audience and continue to grow the event and its brand within the Formula 1 community in particular. 

Since then SMG’s partnership with BCC has gone from strength to strength with our team becoming an essential resource for the BCC staff as it successfully overcame all the hurdles involved in delivering successive Formula 1 Grand Prix race weekends and establishing itself as one of the most popular races on the F1 calendar.

SMG’s primary work with BCC includes the development and implementation of international marketing & public relations campaigns, general strategic support, management of the FIA Media Centre as well as cultivating and delivering exciting and innovative fan & media engagement programs to help promote a positive ‘Baku Experience’ for Formula 1 stakeholders, teams, drivers and most importantly, the fans. Our work with BCC continues into 2023, where SMG will once again manage all international communications for the most unpredictable race in Formula 1.
